Archery Range at Antelope Island State Park

About the Archery Range

Antelope Island is one of the newest Utah state parks to feature an archery range, thanks to the funding efforts of the Friends of Antelope Island (FOAI). The total cost of the project was $62,500. Donations raised came from Davis County Tourism, local sponsors, and a matching grant from the Utah Outdoor Recreation Grant program. Participation from other State agencies include: the Division of Natural Resources (DNR), Wildlife Resources (DWR) and State Parks. Local sponsors include: Wilde Arrow, Beehive Wasatch Bowhunter, Hoyt Archery, Utah Archery Association and Easton Technical Products.

According to FOAI Project Coordinator, Randy Cook, it was a total collaborative effort. “Every donor saw the value of featuring an outdoor archery range in a safe, natural environment, such as Antelope Island.” The archery range will become an added feature for visitors touring the Island as well as provide an excellent venue for archery enthusiast and youth groups interested in learning archery, he said.

The outdoor archery range at Antelope Island State Park offers visitors a unique and scenic place to practice their skills while surrounded by the island’s stunning natural beauty. The range is open year-round and features multiple targets set at varying distances, making it ideal for both beginners and seasoned archers who are looking to refine their aim, or to just have fun.

It is the only range in the county that offers an outdoor 100-yard target range. All targets are provided and maintained by the park, but participants must supply their own bow and arrows. The range is ADA compliant with ample parking and modern restroom facilities. There is no additional charge to use the range and is available to anyone entering the park. No reservations are required.

Whether visiting for recreation or serious practice, the archery range at Antelope Island will add an adventurous touch to the park’s many outdoor activities.
